Flowercarpet in Brussels

Since 1971, evey 2 years the Grand Place of Brussels is hosting a flower carpet. The event takes place on the weekend of the 15th of August. The 2000m² (80x25m) carpet counts half a million of begonias. More than 100 volunteers are necessary to create that artwork that gathers thousands of visitors. The 2016 edition was made on Japanese motives for the 150th aniversary of the Japanese-Belgium friendship. Next year flower carpet will be held from the 16th to the 19th of August 2018, after 4 days of mounting work.

The Grand-Place is accessible during the entire event. You can have a panoramic view of the flower carpet at the balcony of the city hall. Ticket price is 5€.
